Hosted by the Northern Nevada Police and Fire Games
The Northern Nevada Police and Fire Games (NNPFG) is a charitable organization with 501(c)3 tax exempt status.
The NNPFG hosted the Western States Police and Fire Games in Reno, Sparks, and Lake Tahoe in 2005. There were close to 5,000 participants at the 2005 games. The economic impact from the 2005 games for the Reno, Sparks, Lake Tahoe area was approximately $10,000,000.
The 2005 games were so successful that the Northern Nevada Police and Fire Games was able to donate over $13,000 to local youth sports organizations.
The games are not only an excellent event for law enforcement officers and firefighters, but offer an opportunity for the community to be involved in supporting those professionals who work so hard to save our lives and protect our safety.
Community volunteers are more than welcome !! Spectators are encouraged and all the athletes would appreciate your support.
The WSPF Games are an affiliate of the parent organization,THE CALIFORNIA POLICE ATHLETIC FEDERATION (CPAF). This organization is the parent organization of WSPFG and the World Police and Fire Games (WPFG). For mor information please visit http://www.cpaf.org/
The Western States Police & Fire Games (WSPFG) is a multi-sport Olympic-style athletic program, held annually, to promote physical and mental well-being of professionals in Police and Fire Services in the United States. The WSPFG provides a competitive and social environment to encourage and pay homage to the camaraderie among these men and women, through sports. The WSPFG is the current successor to the California Police Olympics, first organized in 1967. As the Games evolved, so has the name of the Games: California Police Olympics 1967-1989; California Police Summer Games 1990-1999; California Police and Fire Games 2000-2003; Western States Police and Fire Games 2004-present.
